first time in five years

16th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival

expectation: arrive at Clark freeway zone at 4:30am to avoid the long line for tickets
reality: woke up at 4:27am. HAHA

We hit the road at exactly 4:57am, and got a bit lost around Manila finding our way to NLEX. Yes, we were lost in Manila and not in Clark or from NLEX to Clark. You get me. :p We arrived around 8:30 and we felt like we were near yet so far to the 16th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. See this.

Fortunately, we didn't have to stand at the end of the line and wait 'till noon to have tickets. There was this guy who approached us. Scalper? NOT. He was selling tickets for the same price of Php 150. Hooray for us! BUT, to our surprise, the guards at the entrance gate did not even bother to ask or look for our tickets. We should have just readily entered.

Since we missed the 5:30-7:00am Hot Air Balloon flight, we had to wait until 5:30pm for the next round of flight plus the night glow.  Luckily, there were three inflated hot air balloons when we arrived.

We both had our share of photos taken with this hot air balloon :)

Jinggiters that we are, we bought a kite and tried flying it. Baby boo was actually good for a first timer. :)))))

Spent hours flying our kite. F-U-N!

With his kite 'so' high, he needed to lie down :p

Aside from kite flying which we really enjoyed (HAHA), here are the other highlights of the event:

Aerobotic Flight Display
Skydiving Exhibition

Paragliding Exhibition

Hot Air Balloon Night Glow

Sadly, Darth Vader didn't scare the wind enough for all the hot air balloons to inflate and fly. at least we were able to see some of them inflated and glowed :)

This 16th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival was so much more fun because of YOU.

Happy Valentines!
