back in the UK (PART II)

The next days were about meeting and having new friends! It's very interesting how our Uncles met some of their friends. One because he had a crush on one of them (not telling who! :p), and another by helping them choose a curtain. After all, trust and friendship are not that hard to give to deserving ones :)

May 20, 2011 - Friday

Meet our good friend from Miami, John Ruark! :D We first visited Canary Wharf where the Olympics will be held next year, then we walked a really long way to Greenwich. Along the way, we talked a lot of things with John starting from the usual getting-to-know-you questions to basketball, until to how hungry we were. Haha!

After the longest walk, we had lunch at the park. Such a great view from up there! John was actually teasing me about wearing flat shoes that day, but to my defense, I didn't know we would have to walk that far :p

May 21, 2011 - Saturday

We were supposed to go to Portobello Road in the morning then prepare for the Barbecue Party in the afternoon. But since Uncle Jorge, Tanny, and I got home (from G-A-Y late) around 4am, we weren't able to go as planned. So, we all stayed at home and bonded over gardening and cleaning the house :D

May 22, 2011 - Sunday

We were really looking forward to this day because it was a welcoming/goodbye party for us globetrotters. Marvin prepared the Pimm's (traditional party drink) while Tanny and I made the kebabs. Uncle Alan made the summer pudding which was oh-so-good! And Uncle Jorge added flavor to the burgers, yum! :D

We met most of our Uncles' friends and really learned from them. We were also happy to have shared with them our culture and about our country. Meeting people, learning from them, and inspiring them at the same time belong to the top reasons why I love travelling!

May 23, 2011 - Monday

Since Uncle Jorge and Uncle Alan had to leave early for the contract signing of their new house, we, the globetrotters found our way to the Natural History Museum. Thanks to Terry, our Uncles' good friend, we were able to enter a restricted area which contained the Giant Squid, and Darwin's collection among others.

We also entered an interesting part of the museum --- the Sexual Nature. It features green porno short films made by actress Isabella Rossellini, and other interesting facts about attraction and mating.

May 24, 2011 - Tuesday

It was indeed a long day for us! We first went to Victoria & Albert Museum with Uncle Jorge. Tanny and I admired the beautiful gowns and dresses worn before and wondered how nice it would be if we wear them at this time :)

Then, we met up with Uncle Alan at The Monument which was built to commemorate the Great Fire in London in 1666 which started from a bakery. The Monument stands 202ft high. Imagine how many steps we had to endeavor to reach the top. I was too scared, I wasn't able to look down nor get near the wires protecting the summit.

hooray for the certificates! so proud! :D

Before we called it a day, we walked down to the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Wonderful sites!

May 25, 2011 - Wednesday

Another Independence day for the globetrotters! :D With our purchased tickets and packed lunch, we headed to the London Eye! Before the actual ride, there was an inclusive 4D experience. We were with adorable children inside the theater and along with them, we had our own versions of ooooh's and aaah's. Haha!

It was scary up there but it was also fulfilling to see London clearly. It was just so beautiful. I also witnessed the cutest thing: the younger sister pretending it was her own TV show while her elder sister captured her moment. Awww!

London is such an amazing and friendly city! With an oyster card (travel card), one could really travel and experience its beauty! :)
