Paris: the City of Lights, Romance, and Fashion :)

After our well-deserved rest at Le Saussay, France, we then moved up to the city of Paris! :D We stayed in an apartment at Rue de Pecquay for 6 days and 7 nights.

On our first night, our cravings were satisfied! We first had wine at a restaurant near our apartment. Most cafe, pubs, and restaurants in Paris have all their chairs outside facing the streets because Parisians love to people-watch. And guess what? We loved it too! :p

After a few drinks, we then had STEAAAAK at Camille Restaurant :D Tanny and I had Rumsteak grille sauce bearnaise pommes sautees while Uncles Alan and Jorge had Foie de veau au vinaigre de xeres epinards.

On our second day in Paris, art woke us up! Figuratively. hihi. We went to Hotel de Ville for the free exhibit. Free art exhibitions are common in Paris, and when there is one, expect Parisians to really line up for it! :)

While Uncle Alan was on his way to the airport to pick Marvin up, Uncle Jorge, Tanny, and I went to Paris high street! <3
our first Metro experience :)

Globetrotters were reunited for the third day in Paris! :) A few blocks away from our apartment was the famous Pompidou Center wherein the tubes and other pipes were built outside which gave more space inside the building.

Next on our list were the, The Madeleine (church like a Greek temple), Place de la Madeleine: Fauchon, Hediard, Rue St Honore, and Tuileries gardens. CHECK to all! And along the way, we passed by Le Louvre des Antiquaires and the Royal Palace :)

We also visited Orangerie Museum and fell more in love with the works of Renoir and Monet <3 The Museum is called Orangerie because during winter, the orange plants are kept safe inside the Museum.

After our coffee break, we went to Galleries Lafayette where we met up with baby boo's godmother, Tita Tess and her husband, Uncle Bruno :) They even prepared us a French dish for dinner along with wine. THANK YOU SO MUCH! :D

bouef bourguignon with tagliatelle for dinner :)
On our fourth day, we went cycling around Paris! :D The streets of Paris are the scariest for me, compared to those of London and Amsterdam. But of course, it was the most fulfilling!

first stop: Ile de la Cite
Our next two stops were breathtakingly beautiful! Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle.

Notre Dame Cathedral
Saint Chapelle
We then had lunch at Jardins du Luxembourg then we visited St. Sulpice, the church featured in Da Vinci Code.

On the fifth day of our Paris experience, we visited Le Louvre (which will be a separate blog post because it deserves one) then, we headed to Montmartre, and then admired the works at Place du Tertre :)

Marvin bought a lovely painting :) (photo of him with the artist)
After dinner, we walked down Moulin de la Galette, Moulin Rouge, and Arc de Triomphe which is in honor of the French soldiers who fought in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars.

On our sixth day in Paris, we went back to Notre Dame Cathedral and climbed more than 300 steps to reach the top :) Then, we availed our free entrance at Musee d'Orsay. Sadly, taking of pictures was not allowed in the museum.

second on top: the famous gargoyle
On our way from Paris back to London, we stopped at Giverny and relived the life of the artist Claude Monet through his home :)

There is still so much more to Paris than these photos and places could describe. I would love to go back to this wonderful city...one day. Come with me? :)
